About me & My roots

I Born into a Bengali family in the vibrant city of Varanasi

About me, I was destined to be immersed in a world of art, culture, and boundless creativity.

The fusion of Bengali heritage, with its deep appreciation for arts, and the kaleidoscope of colors that enveloped the ancient city of Varanasi, has woven a tapestry of inspiration into the very fabric of my being.

In my fondest memories, I can still feel the gentle touch of my uncle’s hand as he led me to the Dashashwamedh Ghat at the break of dawn, where the air was pregnant with sacred tranquility. The rhythmic racing of trains in Chittaranjan, where my father toiled for the railways, sparked my young imagination, leading me to believe that he built those magnificent machines himself. Meanwhile, my mother, a Hindi teacher, instilled in me a love for language and the power of words. In this amalgamation of experiences and influences, my identity as a creative soul began to take shape, forever indebted to the rich tapestry of my heritage and the enchanting surroundings that nurtured my artistic spirit.

My first computer

Childhood love for design

In the year 2001, at the age of 13, my father surprised me with a computer amidst the Y2K craze. Little did I know, this gift would unlock a world of endless possibilities. A friend introduced me to Photoshop, and as I installed it, my mind was blown. With each click, I discovered the power to transform images and unleash my creativity. It was a surprising revelation that ignited my lifelong love for design. From that day forward, I embarked on a journey where technology and art merged, shaping my destiny.

My learning journey

My first Teacher

My mother, the first and most influential teacher in my life, holds a cherished place within my heart. With unwavering dedication and boundless love, she laid the foundation upon which my dreams and aspirations took shape. Her guidance, patience, and nurturing spirit instilled in me the values of compassion, resilience, and the pursuit of knowledge. I am forever grateful for her immeasurable contribution, as she ignited within me a passion for learning and a deep appreciation for the power of education. Her impact resonates in every step I take, forever reminding me of the profound influence a mother’s love and guidance can have on shaping a life.

introversion

My biggest fear

I used to be an introvert who struggled in busy environments. However, I have made tremendous progress in conquering this obstacle over time. Even though it is still a work in progress, I am pleased with my progress thus far. I’m committed to keep stepping beyond of my comfort zone and become more at ease in social situations.

Inception to asthetic design

Love for Apple & Steve Jobs

I have a deep admiration for Apple and its co-founder, Steve Jobs. The company’s dedication to innovation and sleek design has not only impacted the technology industry but has also inspired me to think creatively and approach design in a new way.

Apple products have always been known for their clean and intuitive design, which has influenced my own design aesthetic. I strive to create designs that are not only visually appealing but also easy to use and understand. I believe that great design should be accessible to everyone, just like Apple has made technology accessible to the masses.

Additionally, Steve Jobs’ leadership and vision have inspired me to pursue my own dreams and push the boundaries of what is possible. His famous quote,

"Innovation distinguishes between a leader and a follower"

has become a guiding principle in my approach to design and life in general. Overall, my love for Apple and Steve Jobs goes beyond the products themselves; it has become a source of inspiration and motivation for me to constantly push myself to be a better designer and thinker.

Things to remember

My First Pay

In 2009, amidst financial struggles, a friend offered me a freelancing design opportunity, bringing hope. On April 11th, I received my first earnings of Rs 1000, signifying resilience and determination. Overwhelmed, I bought gifts for my parents to express gratitude. The exchange revealed the transformative power of creativity, leaving a lasting impact on my life. April 11th, 2009, remains a symbol of hope and the indomitable human spirit, reminding me of creativity’s ability to bring solace to our souls.

I got the job

My First Company

It was April 2011, As I stepped into the halls of Interrait Inc., my first venture into the corporate world, I was filled with a mix of excitement and self-doubt. The folks around me seemed to know their stuff and have loads of potential. In the shadows of uncertainty, I wondered if I’d ever be as good as them, especially beyond my probationary period. But I took each day as it came and embraced the challenges that came with it. As time passed, I found out that I was stronger than I thought and had a lot of resilience in me. I was determined to grow and learn, so I dived deep into my role as a designer. Three years later, when I look back on that journey, I’m reminded that we grow when we step out of our comfort zones and take on the unknown. I’m a testament to the power of perseverance and believing in oneself. It’s in times of uncertainty that we shine the brightest.
